UPDATE ON 2025 VAPING REGULATIONS - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

The New Zealand Government has introduced significant changes to vaping regulations, including a ban on disposable vapes. These new rules are part of an effort to reduce youth vaping and will come into effect on 17 June 2025.

This latest update aims to provide you with the latest information on the vaping regulations and how they will impact you.

THE BAN ON DISPOSABLE VAPES

From 17 June 2025, single-use, non-rechargeable disposable vapes will no longer be sold in New Zealand. Unfortunately, this includes our Vuse Go Disposable range, which will be discontinued at the same time.

But don’t worry—our Vuse Go Reload devices aren’t affected. With the Vuse Go Reload Vape Pen or Vape Box, you can still enjoy your favourite Vuse flavours while reducing your environmental impact by reusing the device and recycling the pods via RePod.

OTHER CHANGES TO VAPING REGULATIONS

The ban on disposable vapes is just one of several measures being introduced to reduce the visibility of vaping products, especially around children.

Here’s what else is changing:

• • In General Retail Stores: Vaping products in general retail outlets such as dairies, supermarkets, and petrol stations will need to be hidden from view. This will mean they’re placed behind a cabinet or under the counter.
• • Specialist Vape Retailers: Specialist Vape Retailers will need to ensure vaping products aren’t visible from outside their stores. Expect to see blurred glass or new store layouts over the coming months. New Specialist Vape Retailers cannot open within 100 meters of an early childhood centre. Existing Specialty Vape Retailers are not impacted by these changes.
• • Online Restrictions: Websites will no longer display vaping products. However, customers will still be able to make online purchases. The store locator page will no longer be available on the vuse.co.nz, even though retailers will continue to sell Vuse products.
• • Promotions and Discounts: From 17 June 2025, vapes can’t be given away for free or at a discounted price, so now is a great time to enjoy the benefits of our online promotions.
• • Recycling: You’ll still be able to recycle your Vuse vape pens and vape pods through our recycling service RePod, but Vuse+ points will be prohibited from 17 June 2025.
• • The Vuse Care team: Our team will continue to be available on 0800 897 369 to provide vaping support for our customers.
• • Email updates on Vuse vape products and special offers: These will no longer be available after 17 June 2025. Make sure you’re signed up to receive updates now, so you can take advantage of special offers before then!

LOYALTY PROGRAMMES AND SUBSCRIBE & SAVE

The new rules also impact loyalty programmes, competitions, and other incentives.

If you’re a Vuse+ Points member, changes are on the way. Loyalty points will no longer be available, so you’ll need to redeem your Vuse+ points before 17 June. For now, you can continue to collect and redeem points as usual.

If you're a Subscribe & Save customer, your subscription can continue; however, from 17 June, discounts and gifts will no longer be available due to the new vape regulations. Free shipping will still apply, and you'll retain the flexibility to pause or cancel your orders anytime. Until then, you can continue enjoying your Subscribe & Save discounts and perks as usual.
